Propel Schools Foundation is hosting an inaugural Trick or Trot 5K and Fun Run on Sunday, October 31 beginning at 9 a.m. The event will support the Propel Partners in Wellness (PPIW) program. The program helps Propel Schools scholars, families and staff have a healthy and productive academic year by providing dedicated wellness support.
“A necessary part of this program involves our Propel Community Wellness Centers, which provide needed health-related programming to our scholars, families, staff, and community,” said Emily Zapach, Propel Schools Foundation Special Events and Communications Manager.
The first-ever 5K and Fun Run will be held at the North Shore Riverfront Park. Participants will run or walk along the Monongahela River and are encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes. Participants can also enjoy local food trucks, a live DJ, and wellness education.
Propel families interested in volunteering on the day of the Trick or Trot can email Zapach at email@example.com.
“Our Propel Schools community is so excited to kick off this brand new event that's more than just your typical 5K,” said Zapach. “After the races, runners and their families can visit all of the vendor booths to learn all about health, wellness, and local community organizations.”
Propel Schools Foundation supports the mission of Propel Schools: to catalyze the transformation of public education so that all children have access to high-performing public schools.
